Job openings and labor turnover (JOLTS) for September 2026: out Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET

The story goes up on this page shortly after the release: the new numbers, how they compare with before and what they mean for your money. Until then, here is what the release measures and where the last report left off.

What it measures

Job openings, hires, quits and layoffs across the US, published about five weeks after the month ends.

Why it matters for your money

Openings show how hard employers are looking for workers. A high quits rate means people are confident they can find a better job, which usually goes with stronger pay growth.
