About these releases
- Initial jobless claims
- The number of people who filed a first claim for state unemployment benefits in the latest week.
- ISM manufacturing PMI
- A monthly survey of purchasing managers at US factories. Readings above 50 mean activity is expanding; below 50 means it is shrinking.
- Fed speech
- A scheduled talk by a member of the Federal Reserve Board. Board members vote at every rate meeting, so markets listen for hints about policy.
- Construction spending
- The value of construction work done in the US each month on homes, business buildings and public projects such as roads, at a seasonally adjusted annual rate.
